Graduate Students

Currently there are no active openings, but Dr. Benneker is always looking for motivated students and PostDocs with and interest and potential experience in electrokinetic phenomena, microfluidics and transport phenomena. Please send your motivation plus CV through email.

Undergraduate Students/internships

We are currently looking for a summer student to work on a project based on the investigation of elastic and electrokinetic instabilities in microfluidic systems with applications to heat transfer enhancement and mixing of reagents in low Re systems, from May-July 2022 (duration and dates are flexible).

Theoretical and Numerical study : Some experience in numerical simulations of fluid flows (preferably with openFoam or other open-source software), electrokinetics and non-newtonian fluids is required. Candidates should possess some knowledge and experience with programming and solving partial differential equations (numerically or analytically).

Experimental study : Strong theoretical background in fluid mechanics and interests in microfluidics and experimental fluid mechanics are required.

Anyone who is interested in the above project (or has any questions) should write to us at subham(dot)das(at), even if they do not have experience with all that is mentioned above.

Due to funding constraints, only Canadian citizens and residents (permanent/temporary) are eligible for the position.
